Juniper bundle - Kettle Yarn Co.

Juniper bundle

Get your limited edition Lambert bundle for Juniper by Julie Weisenberger. Please note that this yarn is also suitable for Julie's new Flynn design. This took only 3 days to knit!

There are 2 versions of this vest - a simple vest and a Japanese-workwear like crossover. See photos for both my versions and detailed notes for Version A below.

This super bulky bouclè will only be available at upcoming shows and as limited order.

Made from a luscious combination of Highland wool and superfine Alpaca, Lambert is a fluffy bouclé yarn designed to mimic the soft, textured feel of lamb's fleece. Super Bulky, Lambert knits up FAST and is perfect for quick accessories or garments, letting you enjoy its snuggly warmth in no time.

Tips for working with bouclé:  I don’t recommend spit splicing this yarn as it straightens the loops and you’ll see the difference in the sts. Join new yarn at edges of work.

Don’t add new yarn mid row if you aren't confident with duplicate stitch. ;-)

PATTERN ERRATA NOTE: At ‘Finish right front to underarm’ it should increase either every 3rd or 5th row - not 4 as that doesn’t add up. Pretty sure I worked every 5th for Version B and have worked every 3rd on Version A for a sharper increase and more coverage at front.

Modification details for Version A:

I made the purl side my RS, as I like it more than the knit in Lambert. With hindsight I'd have also switched the SL2 to the knit side, but luckily it isn't noticeable in this thick curly bouclé.

I picked up shoulders from WS (knit side) using the main needle in normal fashion. I found doing it as written last time gave me seams that were too tight at shoulder, probably as I am a tight knitter. This worked beautifully.

Work neck increases until the front piece comes across as much as you'd like to have overlapped. For mine I chose to continue working the front increase approximately 5 more times after joining to fronts. If you have a larger bust you will probably want to continue longer.

Finish with two double knit rows to avoid any curling and create a more solid hem, then finish with a suspended bind off for an invisible edge on the purl side.

Steam block to maintain maximum fluff.
