All done…Alcomar!
Well, I finally did it. I’ve finished my Alcomar designed by Hanna Maciejewska for Pom Pom Quarterly’s Summer 2015 issue. I started this knit in May when the issue first came out, but between working on other projects, designing and organising The Boardwalk Collection and then the wrist thing I only just finished it!
I planned to wear this in the summer so made the lace a bit looser and more airy, as I learned my Beetlebum shawl how warm Westminster camel silk can be, even in lacy light fingering.
I did a few modifications as I realised I would probably wear this more if it wasn’t fitted, so made it more blocky to wear with skirts and dresses. I also didn’t add any shaping to the back neck so I can wear this shift top with the lace in front if I like as well!
I got a little carried away when taking photos of this one. The Florence colourway looked so fantastic in the lace pattern (if I do say so myself!), that I just kept shooting from different angles!
It was so hard to stop. ;-P
I plan to wear this as a light warm layer over a long-sleeved top throughout the autumn! So glad it is finished.
