Incredible Imogen - Kettle Yarn Co.

Incredible Imogen

October 22, 2015

It is DONE. I patiently blocked my Imogen Wool by Carrie Bostick Hoge over the weekend and it is my new favourite knit ever!

I decided to knit the sleeves top down. I finished them off with a fabulous pleated cuff from Bristol Ivy’s Fairchild design from Pom Pom Quarterly, Issue 11: Winter 2014 (same issue as my Brynja.

It was super easy to mod – you just put the stitches for the sleeve size you are knitting on hold when you get to raglan (don’t forget the extra sts that are put on hold under the arm. Put the stitches back on your needles when you are finished knitting the raglan to the top. Then knit two at time to desired length – or until you almost run out of yarn - then pleat and garter the cuff. Easy!

I then blocked it to within an inch of its life – as usual – to even out all the stitches and get the lace nice and crisp. This is where the blocking wires really make a difference in the finishing quality. I love how the lines of the hem and seams come out so straight and precise if you thread them the right way.

Slightly cropped and with just the right amount of ease the jumper looks perfect over a dress or with jeans.

I was hoping to get a good shot of this on, but this is the best I could manage for now! Love.
