Mysteries revealed – Through the Loops Mystery shawl unveiled
I think I can finally share full photos of my Kirsten Kapur TTL Mystery Shawl as the last clue went live a few weeks ago.
It was hard keeping this one under wraps as I absolutely LOVE it and wanted to show all of you the second it was done. Look at how smug I look in the action shot above left! Unbearable. ;-P
I used 3 colours instead of the two Kirsten suggests for the pattern.
After starting with Baskerville Dawn grey and Persimmon Islington bright orange I felt the orange needed a bit of grounding, so used a touch of darker grey Black Quartz Beyul towards the end. Perfect.
I love how the sleek, shimmering islington plays off the Gotland fuzz of Baskerville and softer velvet halo of Beyul. Like a yarn sampler!
Other finished versions are starting to be posted on Ravelry and the Beyul combos are breathtaking. Look at these beauties:
clockwise from left: throughtheloops‘ in Steppe and Yurt, daynasue Balsam and Bronze, HegeKlaseie Turquoise Tarn and Yurt, donabell Black Quartz and Monk’s Robe.
Can’t recommend this crescent shawl enough. It is a stunner.
Here are a few quick recommendations if you want to blend your textures like I did above:
BASKERVILLE Dawn, BEYUL Sangre, ISLINGTON Blighty
BASKERVILLE Dawn, BEYUL Orchid, ISLINGTON L’heure Bleue
BASKERVILLE Dawn, ISLINGTON – Old Smoke, BEYUL Steppe
BASKERVILLE Dawn, BEYUL Bronze, ISLINGTON Peony
BASKERVILLE Dawn, BEYUL Shrub, ISLINGTON Siren Call
So many possibilities…so little knitting time. ;-P
The shop will be closed next weekend for Fibre East so get any orders in before Wed evening if you’d like them shipped before I leave. Can’t wait to see some of you at the show and catch up!
