One/Five – Kit Camisole
I was going through my knitwear the other day, organising for spring as one does, when I realised I never managed to take good photos of my Kit Camisole. Shame on me.
The stunning pattern is by Bristol Ivy and I’ve knit it in Islington fingering L’heure Bleue. It took a little over 2 skeins for the 34.I finished this nearly two years ago and have worn it countless times since as it is flattering and cool in summer. I am lucky enough to be able to wear it without a bra as I went for a slightly tighter gauge to keep the linen stitch supportive at the top. I love how wool can be cool in summer and warm in winter. This Bluefaced Leicester / Silk blend is perfect for light summer wear, wicking sweat away from the body and keeping you smelling fresh with it’s anti-bacterial properties.
As you can see, the yarn has held up amazingly and still looks brand new two years later!
The best detail is the line of linen stitch running down the back of the tank. So 1920s and elegant.
I really must make this again, a little looser this time so it flows more and shows off the a-line shaping to Flapper effect! I am thinking of making it in Beyul this time. Mouse over to see the yarn names:
I am off to the home country next week so might start it on the plan home. Just a quick note to say that shipping will be delayed from May 6th – May 24th. All items purchased in this period will ship at the end of the month. So if you want anything shipped before then purchase by end of the day tomorrow and I will get it out before I leave for my Canadian holiday!
