Last Friday’s annual Pom Pom Quarterly was an utter blast! I had so much fun playing with those of you who made it and wrote a bit about it for lovely Lisa at Indifbr this week, so head over to her blog to see what I have to say and get a feel for the joyous blur that was my evening!
I am going to focus on a small section of that post here as want to share a gorgeous new design in Islington DK released at the party…it is in Pom Pom Quarterly’s first book publication of precious cozy knits Take Heart: A Transatlantic Knitting Journey by Fiona Alice!
Fellow Canuck Fiona is another Fine Art grad like myself, but hails from the other coast of Canada, Halifax. She’s been living in London and her knitwear designs are filled with texture and colour.
In her stunning new shawl Ketch Harbour Fiona used my shimmering colourway Icicle. This dreamy shawl seems to hug your shoulders like angel wings! What a beauty. I kept heading back to Fiona’s table at the party to marvel at the shimmering shapes and may have tried to walk away with it. Maybe. Once or twice. Shhh! ;-P
I love her use of colour in her Martinique Beach cowl and could easily see a slightly finer DK version of this in Islington:
There are many more stunning designs so make sure to check it out and order now at the Pom shop – it would make a truly lovely stocking stuffer for a special knitter in your life.
