SPECTATOR by Francesca Hughes
Happy new year! I am starting off the year with a cracking design by British designer Francesca Hughes. Spectator is the perfect garment for layering year round! A boxy, top down raglan in small-batch DK Baskerville and Northiam, it is perfect to wear with jeans, a skirt or thrown over a dress or dungarees.
Bold colour blocks give the jumper a sporty feel, while the clever stripe pattern is created with knits and purls using one yarn at a time. Frankie used Northiam DK in Blackthorn and Thistle and Baskerville Dawn to add contrasting texture and create a beautiful texture and drape.
BASKERVILLE DK Exmoor Blueface / Gotland / Silk DK weight yarn 100 g = approx. 233 m/ 255 yds Colourway: Dawn – natural heathered grey |
NORTHIAM DK British Bluefaced Leicester DK 50 grams = 117 m • 127 yds Colourways: Blackthorn – deep, deep navy Thistle – a delicate lilac-pink. |
There are a many combinations of Northiam DK that you could use with Baskerville Dawn, Nebulous and Dusk to personalise your Spectator.
Below are a few pairing ideas:
Of course you could also mix in Beyul or Islington DK to get even more colour choices to mix and match! Have fun and pick your favourite colours to make it truly yours. |
